Title: Lower Control Arm Bolts Correct installation?
Post by: 69z28302 on April 28, 2008, 12:32:37 PM
I was installing the lower contorl arm on my 69 and wondered which way the nuts need to face towards the front on the car. I was looking at the AIM ( 3A1 & 3A2 ) for the 69 model and it shows the bolts being installed in opposite each other. Is this correct? I can't remember I took the car apart a year and a half ago. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks CRG.

Mike

I have seen them mostly nuts towards the front.  Probably easier to install from the factory.

In your picture, the nut nearest the motor mount bracket is in correctly, but the one up front is in backward.

On my 67, the bolts are inserted from the inside facing out, like JL8dale said. I see the nuts on the outside, front and back.

JL8 Dale & Stillwater Camaro, Thanks for the info. That's the way the 1969 Assembly Instruction Manual shows them also.
