Title: brake caliper castings
Post by: copo69 on March 22, 2008, 07:47:32 PM
My friend was redoing brakes on a C3 Corvette and found when rebuilding calipers with O ring pistons yhat one caliper had smaller piston bores.  Corvette supplier told him they were probably from a Camaro with rear disc brakes because of bore.  Casting #'s are 5473807 and 5473806 on split caliper.  Also has a 2 and 6 on caliper.  Anybody know what this fits or if it is Camaro?

These are the second design rears used on late 1972 through 1982 Corvettes.

5473806 (rear inner)
5473807 (rear outer)

'65-'82 Corvette 4-piston front calipers had 1-7/8" diameter bores, and the rear calipers had 1-3/8" bores.
