Is there a date code for wire sets? 69 ss 396. What is correct?

Yes.  Code would depend on the build date of the car.  Wires are coded in 1/4's, 1-2-3-4 & the year but re-pops are only available in first & third quarter.  Whats the build date of your car?

1st quarter wires will work fine for your car.
