Hi,
my VIN tag in the enginecompartment is missing. Anyone who knows, where to get a new one?
Best regards
Jesper, Denmark
Hi again,
forgot to write my VIN: 124679N697074
The car is a 1969 Camaro convertible. Today it has a 350-engine and a TH350 gearbox. 10 bolt rearaxle with single leaf springs.
Anyone who can decode my car for me (engine, color, gearbox etc.)
Thanks in advance
/Jesper
Jesper,
See http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#VIN to decode. It's an eight cylinder convertible manufactured at the Norwood plant. The sequence number (697074) is late in '69, but I don't know the date. Someone else on here probably has the seq. # ranges for each month.
You can't tell the color or rear from the VIN. Trim tag would tell you the colors, interior or exterior.
Best of luck!
Start with a photo of your cowl tag. Than go to http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#XnnCodes where you should be able to decode what the tag says. If you need more, download and run the decoder from: http://www.camaros.org/decoder/publicdecoder_v368.zip
If you need help post a photo of the tag here.
Welcome,
Tom
Jesper,
What year is it? 67 VIN plates are visible when the drivers door is open, later models the VIN is visible through the windshield on the at the bottom on the driver side.
Missing the VIN is a big deal, at least here in the states. Missing the cowl tag that would be found in the engine compartment is less important.

Hi again,
it is of course not the VIN tag which is missing, it´s the Trim tag (in the enginecompartment).
Sorry...

I merged Jesper's two topics together (keeping all the posts), since they are the same topic.
