Title: " cowl induction" spacer for air cleaner on 69 z/28
Post by: Chris_Pisane on August 27, 2007, 05:43:12 PM
I put a cowl induction air cleaner on my Z.It was originally a flat hood open element air cleaner.

I was under the understanding that the z/28 had a short spacer ring between the  air cleaner and the flange that has the seal on it.Like an 1"tall. So I put one on my car.

I was talking to a guy I met at a car show and he said the spacer doesnt belong on the z/28.He has alot of 69 camaros, 2 Z/28s. I find it hard to doubt him. But I got that info from somewhere a while back.

what is correct?

Thanks.

It is right there in the 1969 Camaro Assembly Instruction Manual Section ZL2. SS350 used spacer 3955232; Z/28 used spacer 3955233. 396/427 did not use one.

Thanks, I thought I was right. I should have looked at my assembly manual, this was easier though. :)
