Title: Need help decoding engine VIN?

I'm trying to decode and engine VIN number that has been given to me that is suppose to me numbers matching off a 68 camaro. The engine is a small block and does appear to match the vehicle vin. Here is what I was given. V0824VE 18N461381

I can't seem to find the "VE" designation. Can any of you help?

Kris,

Look again. It's probably an "ME" which would be the base V8 for that year, 327/210 with a Powerglide transmission.
