We have a 69 Camaro Pace Car 396-325 hp 4-spd., w/AC. The only thing that is not correct on the car is the carburetor. Currently car is undergoing restoration. We have narrowed the carburetor down to a Rochester Quadrajet- either a 7029215 or a 7029201. What is the correct carb for this car?
Thank You,
Steve
Steve -
According to "Chevrolet by the Numbers", the 7029201 is the correct carburetor for your engine. The 7029215 is listed for the 396cid/350hp Camaro engine with manual transmission. Everyone agree?
Paul
In the CAMARO RESTORATION GUIDE by Jason Scott on page 166 it shows the 7029201 as the 396 325 hp man trans and the 9215 as the 396 325-350 hp man trans. I am in the same situation as you are but l have a carb for a manual trans and looking for either a 7027200 or 7029204. l would have to agree with Paul

Like with Earl's question (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=2093.0;all) about a L35/auto, the usage does not match the printed info.
The correct carb for L35 & L34 manuals is 7029215 EH.
Yeah, I previously read the other post and was hoping that I wasn't going to be in the same situation as the automatic Quadrajets. No such luck though. Leaning towards database results.
Thanks guys for you help-
Steve
There is one on ebay right now. It looks reallly nice but you may need a loan, current bid is $405 and reserve is not met. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/69-Camaro-Chevelle-Corvette-Quadrajet-Carb_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33550QQihZ014QQitemZ330127012729QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
I'll say the most of the carb listings are correct. It's just the 68-9 L35/4 carb listings that are in error.
