Hey all, so my passenger side "Camaro" fender emblem came loose and eventually came off (I think the fasteners behind the fender came off). I would like to re-attach it with barrel nuts to avoid removing the fender. I bought the correct size barrel nut for a 1/8" emblem pin, but they do not fit in the hole on the fender. Doing some more reading, due to the paint build up by the hole, the size of the hole is smaller. One of the methods suggested on line was to take a 5/32 bit and by hand and gently ream out the hole enough so the barrel nut will fit. I taped off the area and carefully gave that a try, but the barrel nuts still will not easily go in and I don't want to force them for fear of chipping the paint. Any other suggestions on how to attack this?
Are all of your emblem pins present?
I Thought you "Can" loosen the two bottom lower bolts and maybe a pair of wheel well (Inner) bolts and pull fender away enough to get your hand & wrist thru to install proper hardware in a pinch>?
Hi boomer632,
Yes, all the emblem pins are present.
169INDY - if that's an option and I can get my hand behind there to put the fender fasteners back on, I would rather do that then drill out the fender holes....
