Is the stamp 5599 located in the same location on all original upper reverse lock out rods?

I don't believe every rod received the stamping in the same exact location. There is not way to prove that because we can not compare every rod ever produced in a side by side comparison.

MY original rod has the stamp 5599 towards the top where it connects to the steering column. I am looking to purchase another rod for a different restoration. The rod I am looking at does not have the stamp where my original rod has the stamp. Maybe other Members can add to this discussion on where their stamp is located. Thank you for offering to look at my stamp.

There is at least one place making reproductions. So if you want yours evaluated, you can send me a pic. Originals are not easy to find, and it is very hard to figure out what is what without an original that is stamped.
