Title: Paperwork in the glove box
Post by: x66 714 on September 02, 2026, 09:37:08 AM
Has there ever been any discussion as to paperwork that should be in the glove box when the car was new? I know POP, owner's manual, plastic bag with picture of key. What else would be in them from year to year? Thank you, Joe

Hey X66 I have a dealer's packet in my glove box with the original owners name , address, Dag gum it, but no protect-o-plate. My X66 L78 was sold new in Elmhurst, Illinois, and I purchased it on my HS graduation evening, May 26,1972. All the way down south, in Long Beach, Ms.

It varied. Some dealers handed you all the information, some put it in the car.

POP, Owners Manual, accessories manual. Sometimes the sales paperwork.

I will try to post a few pics.

Joe, for 1968 see the AIM UPC 0 / C1 for items to be placed in instrument box by factory.

Here is one set I have.

In the plastic envelope - POP, Owners Manual, Body Broadcast Copy, several inserts from GM.

I have one from a 1969 Impala with more than that. That one include the window sticker.

I can't find the POP for this one at the moment but this convertible had some different docs.

Finding a BBC in the envelope is unusual.
