Block casting 3970010, with partial VIN 19N653718 stamped by oil filter, casting date is E139. Deck pad stamped V0519DZ.
Is this a true DZ block and if so does the car still exist?
Not necessarily. You can post pics or contact CRG members directly for help.
Post clear pictures of the casting number, casting date, the pad stamp, and the partial VIN. Guys here will be able to tell if it is legitimate or not.
Waiting for pics.
This is what is on the front deck pad. no partial VIN at this location.
Here is the partial VIN by the oil filter. This photo was taken 4 years ago. I was having a hard time making out the beginning of this partial. second photo is what it looked to me like?
Here are the other casting markings on the block
I had the oil pan off in the car to swap out the pan gasket. I should have gotten better photos. I took this photo just to reference the dip stick level. The windage tray i believe is period correct. I believe it is a 4 bolt main with dipstick on driver side. the motor has been bored over .030 and currently has TRW L2210A pistons in it right now with a 3" stroke. the top half of the motor is not original. The motor is currently in a Z28 tribute car.
Try rubbing chalk in the partial VIN area, they carefully brush it off. That may help reveal the stamping better.
Maybe 653713
Last could be an 8 or 3
