Hello folks!
I am new to the forum. Going to take a look at a car this weekend but wanted to post it's vin plate and tag to see if you see any red flags.
According to records this vin would have been the 111th car for April 1969 in Van Nuys. The body date is 03D (4th week of March). Is that a red flag or is close enough were they planned for the car to finish in the last week of March but actually finished in April.
03D is the start date of the body. Several shifts until it's finished.
Tag looks reasonable, but I'm always skeptical about any 10-10 car. They weren't in high demand back in the day, but they are now. Lots of fake tags out there.....
I have a db with VIN/body tag info on over 1,500 Van Nuys '69s. Less than 1% are black so it is wise to be cautious.
The body and VIN tags on L528219 appear undisturbed. The data is in line with other 03D builds. It started in body fab Friday March 28, final-assembled Tuesday April 1st. The previous Camaro VIN is a Z11. VN also built other models.
So either it's a pretty rare car or a tribute. Most likely the latter.
The seller clams it to be a 69 z28 but has a 0827DZ date coded motor. Supposedly still has the original muncie an 12 bolt.
The Fuel tank would have the secrets ,,,,,,,,,,,
Well, anyway. If the Broadcast sheet was found and saved it could answer a lot, even a partial.
