Title: 67 Camaro, replacing OEM fuel gauge with OEM tach
Post by: idcipher on March 15, 2026, 03:20:47 PM
My 1967 Camaro currently has the large fuel gauge (and right blinker indicator) in the dash.  So, it did not come with a tachometer.  I want to remove the big fuel gauge and put an OEM 67 tach (with right blinker indicator) in its place.  I do have a center floor console with gauges and plan to use that for the fuel gauge.

The question is, do I need anything more than a reproduction OEM tach (like this: https://www.classicindustries.com/product/6468911.html)?  More specifically, is the printed circuit board in the instrument cluster the same for dashes with the tach and dashes with the fuel gauge?  Or would I need to also buy the printed circuit board if I expect the tach wiring to be present at the connector to the instrument cluster?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Well, how will you know how much fuel is left?
You're going to need new wire harnesses (plural) for starters.....
