Title: Steering Column Shaft Boot -- ???
Post by: Charley PHX on March 14, 2026, 02:37:23 PM
Not familiar with this part-- never seen one before?? any thoughts??  https://www.heartbeatcitycamaro.com/23844/1967-1968-1969-Camaro-%26-Firebird-Steering-Column-Shaft-Rubber-Boot/

Description says "This is the rubber boot that goes over the steering shaft swivel joint..." (sounds like it is talking about the rag joint)??

I don't think they are talking about the firewall boot, which is a different part anyway ( https://www.heartbeatcitycamaro.com/16480/1967-1968-1969-Camaro-%26-Firebird-Steering-Column-Rubber-Molded-Seal/ )?

Maybe for the steering column bearing? but it specifically says 'swivel joint'?

Just did mine.. yes that part in first pic was present under the plastic piece on interior. The second pic was not present on either column or rag joints..
