I have a 1969 Z10 camaro with cowl induction. I have the original setup with Quadra jet and a re-production air cleaner. I am having trouble with the carb linkage hitting on the bottom of the air cleaner housing. Any Suggestions? Was there a factory spacer on the carburetor besides the small gasket?
Here are some photos
The small block uses a ring between the air cleaner and the carburetor. 2" comes to mind but I don't think it's that tall.....Joe
^^ Not sure What Spacer Joe is refereeing to: Joe are you thinking of ZL2 Piece #3 3955232 RPO L48 which is Above the air cleaner to space the Ring & Seal up higher to mate with the hood>? Ref ZL2 Sheet A3.
My L48/TH350 Combo w/ GM Air cleaner # 6485234 is clear.
Notice there were Three Air cleaner Part Numbers for various combo's
I sure Bet repop is a single representation and might not have got all the specific characteristics correct & this is just a symptom of some dimensional variation for this combo.
I wonder "IF" you can just radius the carb throttle are for a bit of relief of the interference.
Oh I see it NOW.
Move your threaded Throttle arm pin to the lower hole & the Clevis/Swivel should clear the air cleaner.

I wrote that wrong. The extension goes between the top of the air cleaner and the ring which won't help him a bit. Sorry.....Joe
Jim,
That fixed it, I appreciate your help! I love the Camaro Forum! One simple detail ;D haha
Glad we worked thru it.
Keep at it.
Post often your progress.
Jim
You might have to readjust the height of the accelerator pedal to make sure you have wide-open throttle when the pedal hits the floor.....you wanna make sure you have full power when doing burnouts.
No need to post the same topic twice. I'm deleting the other one.
