Title: '68 Camaro door jamb holes
Post by: 69Hurstsc on May 27, 2025, 11:15:10 AM
What would be the purpose of the holes in the door jamb here? The distance between the two bottom holes is 2 3/4.

For clarification, there's more to this cars story in yenko.net

My 1st guess would be door speakers. The other 2, could be anything.

The metal is buckled it looks like and even the door opening switch is bent/angled. Might have been drilled holes trying to assist with damage? At first I thought of Zbar coating when they drilled holes to spray protection in.

I have a single hole on each side for my '67. I remember John Z saying something about them being jig alignment holes to position the parts prior to welding.

Long thread over on the Yenko site.

Have you been able to make any progress with the owner that has the paperwork? There were suggestions on how you could at least get a pic of the paperwork or the tag that was in the door jamb. It would help a lot.

It's too bad the axle code was obliterated.

Spacing of holes seems too wide to me.

Is there a casting date on the axle center section?
