Title: 1968 Camaro
Post by: Dillon14 on December 02, 2024, 03:24:12 PM
I have a 1968 Camaro roller. No motor or transmission. I was told by a research site that the car was originally a 396/350 3-speed. Is there any way to authenticate my Camaro or is this information just BS? I have no other documentation other than the vin number and trim tag.

Without paperwork you have to look for the clues, albeit that still wont make it 100. Anyways, if it was a BB then its already an SS. Initial easy to spot clues that may be BB are 5 leafs, 12 bolt rear, left side of heater box has heater hoses, not the right side. Nothing in the VIN or TT will tell you what V8 or trans came in the car. 1967 yes, but 68 and 69 no.

BS.  There is no info other than the dealer of record and Canadian data.
