Title: Muncie shift lever seal replacement
Post by: JST69Z28 on May 02, 2024, 07:38:47 AM
Can you replace Muncie shift lever seals (in the side cover) in the car or does the transmission need to come out?  Mine drip oil.  I could not find any previous posts on this.  Thanks.

You can remove the side cover with the trans in the car and replace the seals. Not bad on a lift, but can be done with jackstands

There was a previous posting on CRG about replacing the side plate with the transmission still in the car:

It has been a long time since I did it, I may have rotated the trans when I did it.  It would be interesting to see a post after it is done. I did not see a reply by Mike on the other thread.
