Title: 68 RS Actuator answers needed
Post by: David K on May 28, 2023, 06:25:24 PM
A little clarity please. The front piece is single barbed and the rear is a 90 degree bend. These came off in 1993 after the accident. From my 68, but the vacuum ports are obviously different from the OER pieces.

I suppose the question would help. Is the design for the OER reproduction from the 69 actuators or a design upgrade/change? I've never seen a 69 so I don't know if there is a difference.

68 and 69 actuators where different parts number's per assembly manual and 69 gm parts book. But 69 assembly manual shows  68 # supercedes to 69 number in 69 assembly manual . Gm changed the part number later in the parts books several years later. OER should work fine. Just changed angle of port! Good catch David K.

I'm wondering like my friends why the vacuum port design was changed. Of all the things we wish were cosmetically correctly when reproduced, why this wasn't. I also posted pictures also on Team C.
It was damaged, so I cut it open. There is a rubber diaphragm sandwiched between the plates at the bottom.
