Title: 1969 OEM tail light mfg
Post by: boomer632 on May 19, 2023, 12:35:35 PM
Looking at tail light replacement on my 1969 SS. Is this a re-pro? If so who did make them back in 69?

They were manufactured by the "Guide Lamp Division" of General Motors which has been around since the early 1900's!

I'm sure there's a way to tell if yours are original or reproduction, but I wouldn't know since all the repop lenses have Guide on them. Some good reading about them HERE (http://www.charleswbullock.com/Guide/Index.html).

Yeah - the CHQ repros are so close - you can hardly tell the difference - except for the "newness" of the lens itself.
