Title: 67 water pump mounting bolts
Post by: 1967RS/SS on April 24, 2023, 07:21:54 PM
Anyone have pics or can give direction on the correct water pump bolts and their locations for a 67 350 (L48)?  Some parts vendors show 2 studs but the 4 I removed had bolts (no studs).  Had to drill a couple out because they were frozen in the block and the heads were rounded off.

I went through the AIM but couldn't find a diagram.

Thanks

The Water pump is installed by the Engine plant and the best views of the hardware associated with the Water pump can be assumed  by looking at the AIR pump and Alternator sections, that give clues to Stud style hardware used.

I have a few pictures on my website here that should help you out:

Also if a factory AC car, check out UPC C60 in the AIM.  The compressor bracket goes on top of the pump on the passenger side, and likely requires two longer bolts.  The assembly plant would remove the two from the engine plant, when installing the bracket and the required longer bolts.  I don't think anything affected the driver side bolts.
