Trying to get engine back in camaro. I had AC fan and wipers not working. After a bit of investigating, it appears that the firewall harness was bad.
I replaced it and all is now good! However, In poking and probing inside the car I must have pulled a brown wire out of its home.
Was hoping someone has a harness they can look at and let me know where the brown wire in the attached picture should be plugged into.
If you can send a matching picture that would be great.
Thanks in advance
Dean
Is that a flat or circular connector on the end of the wire? It might be the e-brake switch wire. If not, I am sure I can find some pics or schematic to find it.
It is a flat connector. It is not the e brake wire. It plugs into one of the slots in the black box....I think. Like a jumper wire for some reason.
Thx for the input

I was just installing my wiring harness yesterday, and I believe that is the wire that goes from the coil for the tach.
Sorry, I looked and I don't have anything that shows that particular wiring. :(
I have the old harness off my car and will take a picture for you of where it plugs in when I get home tonight.
I'm looking at UPC 12 sheet D2, and I see where there are two brown wires ganged together, but your connector doesn't match what's there - or I'm looking at it the wrong way.
It goes to your dimmer switch connector
Ok - I'm not arguing but, I looked at it again and according to the AIM - that ganged brown wire goes into the socket between the tan wire that goes to the dimmer switch and a black wire that is the ground for the horn. That's what the AIM says. Confirm by matching the colors on other wires by the position they are in compared to the AIM.
There's a small tang on the connector pin that keeps the wire in the socket. Bend the tang a little bit so that the wire will stay in the connector shell. Don't break it off or you're schvitched.
I took a screenshot of what camaronut was referring too. I circled out the double brown and where the lead goes to. Take a look at this and see if your wires/colors matchup. Your pictures has to much reflective light for me to actually see all the colors and leads.
Oh, and if you don't have the AIM, look at the "Sticky" post at the top of this forum.
Ahhh looks like that is where it should go.
Thanks everyone for the help
