Hi all, I apologize if this topic has been discussed before but I am having a hard time nailing down certain information on my hood louvers. I have a second week of January build, numbers matching 69 SS 350 and I am currently working on restoring the original hood louvers. I have had them re-chromed and I am now trying to find out if the outside of the stacks would have been painted gray/silver or left chrome. Prior to restoration I noted that the only original paint that was left on them was a little bit of black on the indent area on the base of the louvers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This might help. See page two.

These louvers are on an unrestored 69 that has 12k original miles. Stacks are painted, but not in between or on the inside....Joe
Thanks for the pictures Joe that really helps. To clarify the silver isn't painted (for lack of better terms) on the floor between each stack?
Correct....Joe
