Does anyone have pictures of original L78 oil line fittings, with gauges?
Bob
Does anyone have an 01 02 1967 L78 with console gauges , RPO U17, that has the original oil lines and fittings?????
Bob
01 02 1967? If you mean January or February 1967 then there aren't any. The L78 didn't enter production until March of 1967.

Thank you for posting Darrell. For reference my car is an 04D. Do you need a photo of the fittings at the console as well?
Ed,
Should have remembered that about the 67 L78. Having a problem trying to understand what parts where used in the early and late 67 oil line L78's and L35's.
View C in 67 AIM A4 shows L35 but there is no bushing used on 2 bolt main blocks. A grommet is used at the firewall so this has to a late version of the oil lines.
1st version used clear oil lines. When did they start using black oil lines?
The grommet (2nd version) was added in 3-10-67 to 67 AIM but when did it go into production?
Jose,
A picture showing the fittings at the oil filter pad and gauge fitting would be great.
Bob
My original engine is in OH and I doubt I can get any photos of the fittings on the block.
Here is a photo of the fitting behind the gauge. Although the gauges are original to the car I'm not sure the copper line is original.
Jose,
Thanks for the pictures.
Copper line is not original, should be white or black 1/8" nylon with cone type ferrules and sleeve, but at this point I do not know which one is correct for early 67 L78 with firewall fitting.
Mike S has an 325 HP 05B with firewall fitting and it has white lines and fittings which I believe to be correct for early version oil lines.
No correct information on early L78 version system just bits and pieces.
If your copper line has barrel ferrule and you use it with original gauge and adaptor you will have and oil leak.

Can anyone with a 2nd version ( 67- 06,07 month) original L78 with gauges and grommet on firewall confirm what color oil lines they have? L35 would have the same oil lines.

There were a limited number of those cars and probably not a whole lot left.
My L78 4k built 05b has the gromlet. Its a 17k mile fairly original unrestored car with factory gauges. It a LOS built car .

Here is a closeup photo of my 04D 67 L78 fitting showing the line as clear. I also found post (screenshot) illustrating a car using identical fitting and clear line here http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=9493.0 (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=9493.0)
Initially, I believe clear was the only assembly line or over the counter oil line supplied. Black oil lines became the only available line (OEM or reproduction) sometime later; not sure when.
