Title: Original vs reproduction spring ring battery cables
Post by: x66 714 on June 03, 2022, 10:28:07 AM
I'm sure several here have compared reproduction spring ring battery cables to originals. Would someone please discuss what was observed? Pictures would be wonderful. Thank you, Joe

pics of the HD cables and standard cables would be great. Joe and I did realize that original positive cables will have a tang on the connector that goes to the solenoid post, that reproduction cables have not been able to duplicate thus far.

Here are a few Factory originals I took off my 69 SS350 and 68 SS396.

I seem to remember the asphalt (oil) soaked sleeve on the 1968 cable, cutting it off including a steel pinch ring.

Note the 69 positive does not have a tang on the terminal lug spade.

So there is a tang on one of the positive cables but not the other?

Positive Cables:
1968 LOS SS396  (TANG)
1969 LOS SS350 (NO TANG)
