Looking for advice on the best highest temperature Chevrolet orange engine paint.
Trying to do concourse level restoration. On a six cylinder car, I believe the exhaust manifold was painted engine color when factory built and really would like it not to burn off.
But it should burn off, that's what happened at (and after) the factory.
Thanks Kurt, that makes sense. So for a car that would be judged at national level I should just let paint burn off to rust color to be correct? I see other cars painted with raw cast color and that just doesn't look original to me. I was just thinking if they make a high heat exhaust manifold paint to look like fresh cast that someone would have the same for Chevrolet engine orange. The fun part for me is trying to make a restored car look like a brand new unrestored original car by a true expert.
Let it burn - that's what they did brand new.
