Lloyd took a lot of pictures at a 1967 Z28 at MCACN 2021 (back in November) when it was judged and he will be posting them. I am starting the thread then will just monitor the progress. This car was owned by CRG's Jon Mello at one time.
I believe this is the car, but if it is not I will change the photo.
There are plans to also highlight another car Lloyd has pictures of in another post later this month. Stay tuned!
There was a Mountain Green '67 that ran at York US 30 when it was new. As I remember the owner was a big guy. First Z I ever saw.
Hang on guys let's let Lloyd get some more pics posted first, please.
I also have quite a few pics of this car from MCACN. Very original car sold out of Mustang Chevrolet in San Angelo TX.
I was privileged to be working with Steve S and the Vintage Certification team at MCACN on some judging duties and official photography. Most of the photos I take are technical rather than glamour as I hope to capture a lot of the original details to reference how these cars were built as its rare that we have access to such original and untouched examples like this 67 Z. I plan to post several photos over the holiday break. This Z received a set of dealer installed GM headers and the original exhaust manifolds, pipe cut offs and heat riser were neatly included in the trunk. More to follow!

Great car I remember it from years ago.
IIRC ordered with headrests but not installed at the factory.
HD Brakes No radio Headers and Cowl Plenum.
Weren't the ralley wheel centers still in the paper dividers?
The manifolds have the original white donuts in the exhaust, rarely see that any longer.

I thought about that for a minute - likely they were asbestos fiber gaskets at that particular date. Nice touch -
Steve
I too believe they are asbestos.
My brother's 73 corvette still has the originals in it as well along with the tork loc thin height nuts on the exhaust studs.
I found a few NOS sets of the donuts 2-3 years ago but have used them on the LT1's and my brother's Z28.
No doubt you guys are right but I don,t recall seeing white donut gaskets. Maybe lighter gray but not white. I know I bought some in the late 60,s from parts houses but I don,t remember them being white.
The ones above have never been removed from the mountain green exhaust.
here are the originals in my brother's vette.
Jon sold that car to a friend of mine so i was able to see it a few times. I believe it had heavy duty disc. brakes and a heavy duty battery The orig headrest and manifolds were very cool along with the heat shields. I believe Jon will tell you the heavy duty alt that was on the car when he bought it did not have a deep groove pully on it.
That is correct. The original 61 amp alternator on the car did not have a deep groove pulley on it. That optional alternator as an option for the Z was ultra rare, plus this car being built on the last day of LOS production, it was just delivered with what they had available.
Of all the 67 Z's I've been able to find information on this is the one I'd like to know more about. I do appreciate glamor but am very interested in the original details of these cars.
Looking forward to "More to follow!". (Are you taking requests?)
Several detailed photos I took during Vintage Certification have been posted by Steve S on the SYC site under the Vintage Certification thread. Here is the link:
