Does anyone know of competent vendor who can rebuild hood hinges? I need new rivets installed for my '67 Z28 Stock Eliminator race car.
Thanks,
Jerry

He did my set for the 68 & even replace a "link" that was welded by previous owner, I had him leave them untreated so I could perform zinc phosphate conversion coated. They are tight as a drum now, rivet look great.

Jerry -
I used Rowland Hall. Did a phenomenal job. Custom made-date coded the rivets that he personally machines from raw stock, correct finish for hinges and springs. He wrote a tech article on how he goes about rebuilding the hinges. I'll send it to you by email - it's a large file. I searched far and wide and could not find anyone other than Rowland that did the date coded rivets.

Note - the hinges in the images are for my Chevelle. The Camaro hinges are at the paint shop, getting installed and I didn't take a post restoration picture of them (yet). Same quality.

I used Wilson's as well. They did a great job.
Willie is awesome. I've sent dozens of door and hood hinges and latches to him of various makes and models. Never a disappointment. He does not add the letter stamping to the rivets but most of my customers don't care even if building a born with drivetrain car. He bronze bushes many hinges and has overbuilt other 40s hinges with grease fittings when the factory never did. Just sent a set of hinges down for a 40 Woody.
Part of the 1940 Ford hood hinge was attached to the hood when painted body color...
Here is a low mile survivor hinge -
next is of my dad's 1940 Woody - it now has 30k miles since he did it in the early 90's.
The owner of the Woody sent Willie the door hinges. Don't know what he's doing with the hood hinges yet. All I have at my shop is the gazillion pieces of hardware to blast and paint. I'll give the owner the safety wire pic.
