On a 69, which of these nuts were used to mount to radio when it left the factory? The round ones were in a baggie from when I took the car apart. The guy who worked on the radio included the hex nuts. Thank you, Joe
I believe they where the round ones
I went ahead & used the round ones since they were in the zip lock bag from me taking the car apart. They're a little bit of a pain to install. Thank you, Joe
I just found one of the round ones in my bolt box, just need to find another. Doesn't this take a special tool to install?
YES THERE IS A SPEICAL SOCKET TO INSTALL THEM I HAVE 1 FROM SNAP ON
I was curious about this and my 'memory' wasn't telling me which were used on my car, so I went down and found my original AM radio (in my storage), and here are the photos of the nuts (round !)..
Thank you...Joe
Hmm, interesting pic! The hex nuts are used on the backside for adjusting knob height, but round nuts are used for front securing :)
Use a appropriately sized deep dish socket you don't need, grind the two sides until you make a tool to go into the slots of the nut.
I suggest using the nut as a template. Worked for me!!!
