I just bought a 1968 AM/FM radio with a "controller" that has volume, tone, balance, and front/rear knobs.
I know the U79 multiplex was normally installed in the center console door. And I understand that if a car did NOT have a console, there may have been a controller that mounts under the dash.
That said, I am unsure of what I have and whether it is complete (ie are there more parts needed to use actually use it).
I have read through all related posts and am still unsure what I exactly have.
I only wanted and AM/FM but got this controller too...
Thanks,
Brent
68 multiplex for a car without a console.
I would think it was from a 67 camaro because that is a 67 emblem
Thanks gents--I had never seen anything like this...and I thought I had seen every option...it came from a 68 RS and was original to that car.
I just wanted an AM/FM, I assume the radio is nothing special that is connected to the multiplex? I can use it without the multiplex?
You can but need the plug to replace the cable.

So, the bracket is OEM? I have never seen one and thought it was an owner made bracket. But when I look at the rear, it appears to be factory..
Yes it is factory for cars with a/c. Has a good picture in the 68 Assembly manual!
