A white with yellow & black side stripe 1969 Camaro RS/SS 396 convertible was used as the pace car for the Carolina 500 NASCAR Grand National event held at North Carolina Motor Speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina on Sunday, March 9, 1969. This car has the standard white steel wheels with chrome "dog dish" hubcaps and no trim rings. David Pearson won the event in his 1969 Ford.

The Camaro pace car can be seen several times in the following three minute synopsis of the race which originally appeared in the late 1960's automotive/racing television program called Car and Track. See the footage here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXEKncN0kUA
Just like at the Daytona 500, this NASCAR event featured a pre-race parade of several of the 1969 Camaro RS/SS 396 convertible pace cars from other large NASCAR sanctioned tracks. In the first and second pictures you can see several of the white Camaros along with some other types of pace cars. In the third and fourth pictures you can see the North Carolina Camaro pace car.

Here is a great shot of the Atlanta Motor Speedway 1969 Camaro RS/SS 396 convertible as it took part in the pre-race parade (a separate thread will be posted for the event that this car paced).

The Falstaff beer 1969 Camaro coupe also made another appearance during the pre-race activities.

Two more pictures of the Falstaff beer Camaro during the pre-race activities. I found them at goldmine.uncc.edu
UPDATE: This appears to be a picture of the second NASCAR Grand National race held at North Carolina Motor Speedway on October 26, 1969. It was called the American 500. I have come to this conclusion because the Camaro does not appear to be wearing the same white line tires that it has in the color pictures above. Also, the girl on the hood is a blond not a brunette as seen in the above color pictures. In addition, the stickers on the windshield are in different places.
A white 1967 Camaro convertible even took part in the pre-race parade chauffeuring around Jeannie Brown, Miss N.C. Student Nurse.
