I had a piece of the stainless trim coming loose from one of my tail lights on a 1969 Camaro. Figured I would take the lens out of the housing to clean things up a bit while I had the whole assembly off of the car, and I noticed a light tan colored sealant that is between the housing and lens.
Anyone have an idea of what this is, so I can get the proper replacement when it all goes back together? Looks and feels like plumbers putty, but surely it isn't that simple, or is it?
Thanks.
Well, after doing some research that I should have done first- this should be a gasket, not some kind of putty sealant. I apologize for the dumb question.
I promise to only have about 642 more dumb questions in the future!
Thanks.
