Here is another cool film I had not seen before. This was was directed at Chevrolet wholesale parts customers/providers and used the 1967 Indy 500 to demonstrate the importance of teamwork and cooperation. See it here: http://www.historicfilms.com/search/?q=pace+car#p3t402i0o667
The interesting thing about this film is that at the beginning you can see one of the rarely seen non-SS festival cars pulling into the track with its top down. Notice how this car has the standard hood, standard hubcaps, white walls and what looks to be a 327 badge on the front fender. I can't be sure but it looks like the front nose stripe is missing. Not sure how many of these there were but it couldn't have been many because there is not much photographic evidence.
The fourth picture is one of the only ones I have come across. Not sure if it is the same car or not because the car in the film lacks the blue writing seen on the rear quarter panel. I found it a few years back at worthpoint.com
Other shots from the film showing SS festival and pace cars.
This picture might show the same car from the film because this non-SS car is also missing the front nose stripe.
That was a great race summary.
I keep looking for those RS coupes....
