In 1968 I special ordered a SS 396 ci/350 HP, sequoia green, black interior w/small white areas, close ratio 4 speed, Muncie shiftier, instrument cluster, 331 rear end, heavy duty suspension, heavy duty radiator, steel wheels, small hub caps, AM radio, standard F radials. There was no optional power equipment. As I recall it was one of a kind configuration. Somewhere I may have the VIN but as I recall it does not list everything as we see today. I recall the 1st CA licence plate number.
I am asking for advice about how to go about accomplishing a complete search for the vehicle so please give me some of your ideas. Thanks
Finding the VIN will help in your search for sure. Aside from that, there is a Facebook page for "Lost Musclecars" where people post old photos of their car (if they have them) and ask for leads. The year/location of where you sold it will help in the search. Many a car have been found through that site. Your car sounds like a beauty.....someone will remember it.
Concentrate on finding the VIN....
Perhaps contact your current or old insurance company and they may help you track down the vin. Paul
