Going to check this car out this week.
FWIW: I am iffy on that tag... but I'm no expert... still learning.
Reproduction tag.
Absolutely sure? Could you message me what you see wrong? Thanks Bob
🧐 scrutinizing that pic. I do see what mike is talking about but I will reserve judgement. (for now)
He states he is second owner. Has POP, which looks good and matches stamp on engine. Partial VIN is stamped on block. VIN is124379N662120. Does that match a June production? Thanks for help...Bob
Maybe I'm just not awake but tag looks ok to me.

Yes, the body number would have been produced in late June...
Sorry but I am gonna have to disagree with the repo tag. I feel its legit although been off the car.
I thought the tag looked good, but rivets look questionable.
Not the best angle, but tag is OK IMO.
Engine pad is OK. Axle is too late for the car - must be a story about that....
is there a link for the online ad?
For comparison :

Currently on facebook for sale no D80
(Somebody may be able to go to the link and post a better pic of this tag.)
My bad ? After another look I have droughts that it it a repop.
Mike
It's been hexed, has the Ford caution fan sticker stuck on its shroud.
Thanks everyone for the help. I checked out the car over the weekend. Im no expert, but everything looks legit and the owner has lots of documentation. Its an older, but still a really nice paint job, the engine has just been rebuilt. Looks and runs great. Currently negotiating a price. Bob
Good luck, I like it!
Reached an agreement. My new Z!!
It now has rally wheels....
Wow! Very nice car! And great color combo I like the vinyl top.....I sure it wasn't cheap!!
Nice! Yea those wheels had to go! I like how they did the correct white stripes with the white vinyl top! And a silver grill (correct for Hugger orange).
Congrats!
nice. Did it come with the original wheels?
Very nice. Enjoy...Joe
Beautiful car, congrats and thanks for sharing story and picture.
Pretty car,congrats.
Car was just as clean underneath I have to imagine(other thread)
Seller looked like he had a street rod in the garage. Grew up around those guys(dad's buddies)
All about powder coating and polished aluminum,,meticulous group.
Came with original rally wheels. Looks much better with them on.
Well,...... Let's see! :D

That makes two of us that are nuts... :)
Sorry guys, wont let me post another pic.....
haha I am one of those guys with an upside down seal. Original owner must have done it.
Any time I think of correcting it, I think of Gary, So I leave it...lol😜

That's good Austin... leave it as it is for the orientation of that seal says a lot about the owner of the car! ;)
Well it isn't quite the same as the "caution fan" sticker, or painted stripes over the deck lid lip (with spoiler).
Those are more obvious. The genius of this is it targets the guys that are really in the weeds with knowing this stuff. ;D
In actuality there are not many guys who are going to see my gasket. The original owner used some type of Gorilla glue when he put it on, and I have just left it. Gary , I suspect the same amount of guys view my car, as see your Z/28 that is locked away. ;)
Bob did you buy that car out of Schnecksville PA?
I know of this car. If the previous owners initials are JB then its a great car. He is a standup dude.

JB as in Jim Beam? ;)
Great car....greater drinks. As for standing up....well....after a few rounds, I don't know!
The original owner was from Schnecksville. Pa. I bought it off second owner who's initials are JB.
Well it seems you have done well so congratulations!
Beautiful car, can you show more pics?
I like the mag wheels. Love the car.
