The only thing I can find is a 1966 327/185 (2BBL and manual transmission) from a C60, M60 or S60 truck. However, that can't be right since Flint used the F designation until 1967, then they went to the V. Your's was assembled on October 10th, but what's the casting number and date on the block?

It came from a truck for sure, but the casting number and date will verify the year.

When I am walking swap meets I always look for the vent hole in the back of a smallblock to at least know that it is 67 or older for a quick look.

Paul, I saw that too, but it's a small block, not a big block. I got my info from the Hollander interchange, but I wonder if it's a factory typo. Perhaps the 1967 YX code (and maybe the 1968 YX code) should actually be YW?

It's always best to have the block casting number, block casting date AND the information stamped on the front pad of the block for identification. Could be industrial or marine.
