I had to purchase a dipstick for my TH400 due to the original one being damaged. Managed to track down a used one and would just like to verify that the length is correct as the zig zag area is a little distorted. When measured from inside the cap where it bottoms on the filler tube to the tip is 24 ΒΌ". Is this correct?
If this is the same for a 67 TH400 then I can take it out of my car and measure it.

Here area few pictures of my '68 "born with" TH400 dipstick. Note that it does not have a part number stamped on it but it does have the "M" stamp. I found this link which seems to indicate that yours may be a '69 dipstick??

The overall length on my dipstick is 23 1/2 inches.
If you need more info just let me know.

I read the article from your link Bob and the last post on there says mine is correct for 68 - 73 models with TH400. I'm not fussed either way. The only thing I was worried about is that it wasn't stretched or compressed from its original length.
I wonder what was different between 67 & 68 TH400 stick assemblies
Trans. oil pan and filter was changed for 68.

Our 69 L78 Nova TH400 dipstick has same script as what Bob showed (no part #) and measured basically 24 1/4".
