I reported the bottom one to ebay already. Violates their listing policies
I am pretty dang sure the 4K tag is a repo.
More on the seller here.

As did I (yesterday), but you'll notice the auction's still up. So... I just got off the phone with ebay and told them about this auction and the lady I spoke to said it's under investigation. I also reported THIS ITEM (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-VIN-Plate-Serial-Number-Data-Chevy-ID-Tag-Replacement-1953-1963-New/283246686350?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D3c621e6bf635449bad1009b8bd836511%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D163487391010%26itm%3D283246686350&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851) (which is also against federal law), and she said that one is also under investigation.
Will ebay do anything about either? I doubt it but we'll see...
Ed
Boys,
As you know, the sale of a VIN tag alone is a felony. Can we say 're-body'? Glad you guys reported it to ebay...
Yeah, but unfortunately it's not against the law to sell trim tags (except in Oklahoma), so fake cars will continue to be rampant.
And by the way, just do a search for VIN PLATE (https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313.TR10.TRC1.A0.H0.XVIN+plate.TRS1&_nkw=VIN+plate&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=VIN) and you'll get a few THOUSAND hits!
Or narrow the search to include only "used" VIN PLATE (https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=VIN+plate&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=4) and even that's obscene! Over a thousand fake cars (or stolen cars no longer stolen) in the making.
Ebay either doesn't care, or doesn't have the manpower to stop it. I wonder what the FBI would say to ebay if they knew? Or does the FBI even care???
Ed
The FBI is too busy with investigating the Russian interference of the 2016 election :D
Let's not go there guys.

The FBI does care...(IF the crimes are reported). A number of years ago there was a raid on a Mopar resto shop in So-Cal for VIN 'swapping' and as a result some cars were seized.

It's not Russian, but it is Bulgarian. Eastern Bloc has gotten into the act now - unbelievable. Who and what next ?
