Title: 1967-9 Camaro Factory Rear Sway Bar Question
Post by: Musclecar Fan on November 21, 2018, 12:42:12 PM
I have a pair of NOS Rear Sway Bar links, part #3935778.  Any idea as to their value?  I know a full factory sway bar set-up on Heartbeat City is approx $5000.

Thanks

The term "factory" is a bit wrong. It's a very rare piece. Generally for Trans Am use, not for a street car.

As for what it's worth, I have no idea.

The OP should also understand that all of Heartbeat's parts are GOLD PLATED....   :)

The rear sway bar setup was offered through Chevrolet as an over the counter part, and was listed in their "Heavy Duty Operation Parts" section in the Chevrolet parts book. Not available on the assembly line when the Camaro's were built.

Yep, it is also listed in the November 1970 "Super Sport Equipment List".  See attached.

Complete listing here.

I meant to include the "not available on the assembly line" wording too. Thanks Warren.

Quite common on the 70 1/2 and up Camaro's as it was optional equipment. The sway bars in this posting is referring to 1st Generation Camaro's.

Yes but are the link mounts similar?  Not the width of the bar itself

It is a totally different setup than the 70 1/2 up Camaro's.

Bar that is used is the same style as a '67 thru '69 front sway bar, but it is thinner, 5/8".

Also, the brackets the links connect to take the place of the upper cushion on the leaf spring. The bracket sits right on top of leaf spring and is sandwiched in the perch.

The rear sway bar is also inverted compared to the front sway bar.
