Title: VIN / Trim Tag date discrepancy?
Post by: MFortie on October 01, 2018, 01:13:53 PM
Hi All,

Looking at a '69 Z with a trim tag 'date' of 12C (third week of Dec?) and a VIN of 567xxx (Nov '68); looks to me like a mis-match.

Am I seeing this correctly?

Trying to educate myself while looking for a vehicle...

Thanks,

Mark

No, a VIN of 567xxx would have been built the 3rd week of December, 1968, so the date on the tag is correct. No opinion on the VALIDITY of the tag, but the date's at least correct!!

Thanks.  I re-looked at the VIN chart and see the numbers are the END of the run, not the beginning.  Makes sense now...

(Still learning!)

Suggest you run the vin through google and see what comes up.
