Hi all,
I have read through many different strings on grille color, and I interpret that mine should be black. But can someone tell me what type of black?
I am installing a new grille on my 68 camaro, it will be badged as an SS. So the grille color should be black according to what I've read here. My car has a build date of 07A. I am going to attempt to paint myself, I can find flat black and ultra flat black on HBC. But not sure what flat black. Can someone assist with what color black it should be? Thanks.
Here is a thread on the color.

If you are going to use a rattle can, I think it's satin black.
Hopefully others will chime in.
The SEM 39143 has worked pretty good for the things I painted. However, on that thread I was talking only about my bezels as my grill is Argent. I think Sauron was saying the SEM was good for both the grill and bezels though.
Great info guys, much appreciated. My next weekend project. Cheers!
This is my grille center, bezels, and upper and lower trim painted with a rattle can of SEM Trim Black #39143. It goes on nice and dries to a nice, even finish.

Wow, that looks good. wtg
Looks very nice Dave! Agree satin black is very close to sheen wanted.
When I painted my bezels with the SEM it was spot on to what was already on them. That looks like "downtown", very nice.
