The ad reads and pix appear to be a pretty nice car; engine is probably not the original one, although he states 'date and period' correct.. (this generally means NOT original, but appears original)...
I'd bet it could be bought for less; might be a great deal at enough of a discount .. :)

If anyone gets pics of the VIN and cowl tags, please let me know. Not interested purchasing but would like to have the data.
if somebody wants I could check the car out, he is local to me, I live in Minnesota
man seeing houndstooth in a 68 gets me to want to finally bite the bullet and swap over when I install my fold down rear. love it.
I saw the Car at the MCACN in Chicago a few weeks ago. Being a 68 SS owner I took interest in this car. I liked the combo personally & was interested in the comb re. Blk V-top & White nose stripe. I searched my photos of the event and found I did not snap any of the particular car. Great Car to enjoy and fluff a few things, not a stellar version and someone will enjoy it, but not at that price point. The car did have Rust issues that I saw & the TR749 inserts kind of dingy (I am spoiled TR749 in perfect condition) I think the Blue paint can be conditioned and possibly shine up a bit. I also noted the DoD parking & or Naval Base stickers on the bumpers, OLD school for those in the Mil & Civ corp's.
Buy it now price of $36,900 is unrealistic, IMHO. Even the opening bid of $29,500 is a stretch.
It's a NOM SS. Can't even be sure it started as a big block with only the information in the ad. The Fathom Blue paint was a regular color in the beginning of the model year, so it's not a unique. Need a whole lot more info on condition to determine the value.
