Title: Zerk Fitting on Clutch Cross Shaft
Post by: blackss69 on July 27, 2016, 03:16:26 PM
Does anyone know if Chevrolet Assembly put a zerk fitting on the clutch cross shaft (z-bar) or used a plastic plug to fill the zerk fitting hole?  The AIM does not show either so the z-bar assembly had one or the other.  I know the Corvettes used a plastic plug (orange or red) in place of the zerk fitting.  A zerk fitting was to be installed during maintenance.  The car is a 1969 Camaro.

Thanks

That looks like what I have, Bill. A red plug that is almost flat with the surface.
