This is just strange. I bought a "#1 Team" license frame and intended to put all of the proper screws into the door, it has never had them and I've found what I think are the correct ones on EBAY. I've derusted my door and still plan to paint it, (I assume to be original). And the holes on my door don't match either the license plate nor the new frame I bought.

If my eyes are straight, it honestly appears that the upper left hole is stamped to far toward center. Has anyone else seen this on an original? I'm sure the license plate and frame are not wrong, they match each other.

I think you'll find you should only have two plastic nuts. The top of the plate slides into a slot. You should be able to see that the top holes are round and the ones with the nutserts are square.

Thanks Dave. I hadn't pulled the nuts out of the bottom holes to see they were square.  :-[ So my NOS pack of four square nuts and four screws only applies to two of the holes. The license plate is secured safely under the upper lip, but my frame is only secured by the bottom two screws, since the upper holes don't line up (and even if they did I don't know what I use to secure them).

On the bright side there are plenty of guys who would love to have a pair of NOS nutserts and screws if you wanted to sell them.

The top holes are for Rubber Bumpers to save your paint. You can use your extra parts on the front plate, the front plate uses a different Rubber Bumper.

Bumpers!!!! Thanks Mike, another part to look for. When I bought this car it was very original, except for a very bad paint job and an odd lack of all rubber bumpers and bolts. I knew it was missing the bumpers for the license plate door because every time I get gas it smacks closed, but I thought the bumpers were on the body side.

Could someone attach a picture of what this area is supposed to look like, where it seems I'm missing screws I guess? And what bolts are correct for attaching the door to the body?

After 13 years my car is finally leaving the garage and going into the body shop for quarters and paint next week, and I'm trying to get this stuff right this time. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, I'm not proud.

Hey those bumpers look like they go on the valance panel. My car is in storage now so I can't take a look. Camaro Central has pictures on their web site of the bumpers LIC-201 are the rear and LIC-200 is the front.

Thanks again, this is where I thought I was missing bumpers in the valance panel. Am I missing bumpers in both the valance panel (in the pics) and also in the license door upper holes, and are they the same bumpers?

Hi Andy - the bumpers are only in the valance.

My original does not have a hole on the top left. Only round on top right. Maybe someone drilled that left hole incorrectly.

That is correct, one hole.

Out of curiosity, is your plate carrier stamped with the part number (like right in the middle of the plate ?).

Mine has the one top hole stamped slightly towards the center, with the part number stamped in the center of the plate holder -

Steve - pic attached. Number stamped in the middle of the door, a little sandpaper to uncover it.

Do you have the two holes at the top of the plate holder?
