I did the NCRA research on my car found out it was sold new in Memphis Tn.I googled Cheverolet dealers in Memphis & the second one I called a lady answered the phone I told her who I was & what information I was looking for.She told me that she has been working there since 1968 & remembered my car. She said they were the leading sales dealer in Tennessee & would get all of the hot cars. My car was on the showroom floor and unveiled in front of a large group of people (dealers & general public) . Becky the lady from the dealer ship told me that the all the people who work on the sales floor wore white & orange cloths , the show room was decorated with white & orange balloons, streamers , & flowers. So this pass week I took the car to Memphis ( I live in Texas) and they let me put my car on show room floor & take pics. I even got Becky to take a pic with me & the car. She is a sweet lady.My Z10 is a big block car although the original drive train is long gone I did install a 1969 435 hp 427 with a TKO 600 5 speed tranny. I believe my car is to be one of three sold in Tennessee.
Very cool story!
Now that was $50 very well spent! What a great find, you're especially fortunate that you managed to find someone that still works there.
Very nice!
Very cool 8)
Great that she remembered it. Be doubly great if there were pics. Time to search newspapers of the day...

That's not quite what I said. ;)
I know 3 were sold in TN. Probably others.
How fun is that! I had a similar experience with my car about 10 years ago. My car was sold at Culberson Stowers Chevrolet in Pampa, TX and I happen to remember seeing it on the show room floor when I was 15. The owners son and I became friends in high school, so many years later I called him to see if his dad might remember the car. He did, but I don't think they had a coming out party like yours did. Great story!
