I have a '69 Z/28 that I bought on April 1, 1972 and I'm having it painted for the 4th time. The last time the painter laid the back stripes out the same as the front ones. However, I have pictures from when the car was still new and the back stripes are the same width, but further apart than the front ones. Can someone give me the diminsions for the back stripes (how far apart they are supposed to be)? Thank you very much.
Jim
Jim:
I don't have the dimensions you ask for however my 68 AIM has the stripes laid out for the 68 Z. You should be able to get the dimensions from the 69 AIM. Hope this helps.
Mark
I'm sorry, but I have no idea what a 69 AIM is.

As others have noted, the 69 Camaro Assembly Instruction Manual, pp. 474 - 475, under option Z28, illustrate the stripe locations and dimensions. Also, if you read the links Mark posted, it does a good job defining the width of the stripes. I have seen numerous Z's with the rear RH trunk stripe ranging about 1/8" to 5/16" wider that the LH so that the "o" in the Camaro emblem fit inside the stripe. The pic of 69 Pace Car is an original car.
Here's the RH deck lid stripe on my original-paint 02D Norwood Z/28. :)

if the rest of that original paint looks close to that then .... wow
