Eagle eye Bentley! :)
I guess the cowl tag codes meant nothing to this owner/restorer? Pretty car, but wouldn't the value be greater in white/orange? :)
well obviously the seller is not a numbers guy..... :D
On the bright side it does have an italian steering wheel, that ought to make up for it right?
Repro tag.
Was a Z. Car has a history. It was for sale 15 years ago - project. Then in 06, the tag and drivetrain were for sale. Now the car is done and the tag doesn't matter.
VIN is 124379N575407 for future reference
.. and in another 10, or 20, or 30 yrs... when it's all worn down again.. some new owner will see the 50/50-720 tag and assume he has a white/orange houndstooth car.. and restore it again... and people will have forgotten all about 'repro cowl tags...??
Another Z bites the dust...
Gary, in another 30 years I am not sure how many guys are going to be left who care about numbers matching. Shoot I will be in my 60's by then, hopefully my son can carry the torch of knowledge and being picky about correctness.
This guys fake Z/10, original Z, SS454 car may seem kinda legit by then.... :D
Rivets look to clean and nice. Kinda like they have been installed AFTER the factory did it... Danny
wonder what it would be worth if he found the original drive train still intact?
