Did the N96 mag wheel cover in 1969 have painted spokes? Thank, Joe
I really thought I would get some sort of response back on this. In the Chevrolet parts catalog there were 2 different mag wheel covers shown for Camaro. 1st design, natural 1967 through 1972. 2nd design, flat black spokes 1969 to 1972. I'm thinking about using these covers with the XT wheels on my 69 but need more info, like could 1st design been 1967 till ? in 1969 & 2nd design went from there to 1972. A little confusing...Joe
I don't know, but http://www.camaros.org/options.shtml#wcovers has pics of the different covers.
Here is a picture of the N96 wheel cover shown as painted half way.
This is an old thread but I am looking for a mint set of N96 wheel covers and seeing some that look black and some that look silver.
I believe the 66-67 ones had a raised center part compared to the older ones but not sure if I need black spokes or natural

They've been on Marketplace often in the last six months. and as recently as yesterday. I'd have to locate the ad.
I ran across a nice set last night that i believe are the later set. Also saw some 13" for a corvair. Those would look cool.
There are at least 2 part numbers for these, 551851 and 552205. Numbers are cast right on the backside of the centers. The 551851's are definitely silver spokes (these were optional on my '67 Nova, I have a good set with the car), the 552205's are darker. As 14" covers, these were available on a bunch of models, even other internal GM brands and outside of GM as well. Seem to be plentiful on eBay -

Steve
