I have a nice set of wiper arm but need the refinished, any suggestions? Also looking for original exterior door handles. Thanks
First what is wrong with the wipers? Do you want handles to have re-chromed?
If the ends are pitted, there is not much that can be done. I have used a glass beader to lightly even out the sheen on 69 wiper arms, but I think the earlier year wipers might have been more polished. I have used 69 Camaro door handles that need rechroming :)
the arms lost points at legends and they do need refinishing. I don't think they were chrome originally, I think they were a dull silver. 04D 69 Z built in Van Nuys
Thanks for the input
The wiper arms that were on my car when I purchased it in 1976 were/are a dull silver/aluminum bare metal finish. Although I painted mine flat black when I purchased it to further minimize sunlight glint off them, that black is mostly gone now. I do not know if the arms on my car are the factory-original ones or not, but they would be an early replacement if not. Note: I do have NOS wiper assemblies for my '69 Corvette that I purchased at a swap meet in the '70's.. and have never installed; still in the box, but I don't know if the Corvette units are the same/similar to the Camaro or not; the Corvette wipers are hidden under the wiper door, so aren't subject to sun-glint as are the Camaro ones, and that might have led to a difference in the specification provided to the wiper suppliers? I can go pull the corvette wipers from their box and photograph them if anyone is interested; I can't recall if I ever even looked at them?

The '69 Corvette arms are completely different than the Camaro arms - no similarity at all.
