Title: Correct finish for '69 rotors
Post by: nuch_ss396 on August 11, 2006, 10:05:32 PM
Hey guys!

I recently found a set of quite pristine front two-piece rotors for my Camaro.  They were never turned and I took a very light
pass just to get them perfect.  Then, I put them on the steel abrader and cleaned them like new.  Question I have is over the
correct finish to be applied.

Should they be a natural cast color?  What about the wheel studs?  Were they black oxide, silver cad., etc.?  ???

I saw an NOS two-piece rotor on eBay recently, but I always question if the finish applied to service parts was the same as
that applied to production pieces.

Any thoughts or images you can share?

Thanks,
Steve

Here are the images of the NOS two-piece rotor I was referencing above:

What do you think about the finishes applied here ?

About 99.9% positive that that's the way they came from the factory, less a little rust.  Bare Steel, Black studs.
